There are three categories of mandatory labor law posters that employers are typically required to post in common areas that enable employees to view labor law information.
1. Federal Labor Law Posters - These posters contain labor law information required to be posted by the various federal government agencies, such as the Department of Labor and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). 2. State Labor Law Posters - These posters contain labor law information required to be posted by the various state government agencies, such as the State's Department of Workers' Compensation and the Unemployment Commission. In general, employers are only required to post these posters for the states where employees work. 3. City and County Labor Law Posters - These posters contain labor law information required to be posted by the various city and county government agencies, such as a city/county minimum wage ordinance or living wage ordinance. In general, employers are only required to post these posters in the specific city or county where employees work. For example, employers that have employees working in San Diego, California may be required to post the San Francisco Minimum Wage Ordinance. All State and Federal labor law posters from iHRSource include a compliance date in the bottom of poster and is located above the State or Federal Poster name . For example, in the California State Poster, the compliance is code is printed above the "CALIFORNIA" in lower right hand footer. This date reflects the last major (mandatory) change that was captured. For example, a compliance code of "C0123" would indicate the last mandatory poster update was January 2023.
